Michael (89): Sourced from three colluvial to alluvial Errazuriz Max vineyards (1, 2 and 5) full of heat retentive stones. Good drainage means vigour and yield control. Cool yet balanced temperatures resulted in determinate varietal conditioning. This is Cabernet Sauvignon true to its identity, name and place. There is assurance and diplomacy in this red currant, Cassis and sweetly savoury red, a lodestar for Chile and more parochially, the Aconcagua Valle. The oak treatment is quite a mellow thing while the supports from Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc are less herbal than before. Copacetic behaviour. Drink 2015-2020. Tasted February 2016.
