Sandeman Vau Vintage Port 2000 - Expert wine ratings and wine reviews by WineAlign
Modestly priced and modestly structured vintage port, with decent density and forward sweet-pruney flavours, average...
This is very smooth already, but it's built on wonderful acidity and fine tannins and it still has years to go....

Agree with Edward and Tyler; not a 'true' Vintage feel but close enough for evenings not demanding the big stuff.
Better than some LBV's, and a good value.
Opaque blood red in colour with medium+ intensity on the nose.
Positives: Not a complex Port but very smooth showing dry fig fruit, raisin, plum, licorice & tamarin.
Drink now & pair it with blue cheese or almonds & dark chocolate.

Think of this as faux fur or leather; it's not exactly the real thing, but it is certainly not far off the mark - Vintage Port with a modern twist and perhaps a little more user friendly. This is vintage port for those who don't have the patience to wait 15-20 years. Blackberries, plums, cassis, and a touch of spice; you really can't go wrong here. Decant before serving to soften any hard edges and enjoy it with a rich dessert.
