From one of the few rocky-volcanic areas of the Carneros AVA, Truchard's syrah has uncommon structure and vibrancy, and a highly appealing range of ripe but still fresh blue fruit character. This sits comfortably somewhere between the smoky northern Rhône style and the riper, fruitier warm climate style prevalent in the new world. For the money, this is a very fine relative value indeed.
