This is a big but savoury, succulent and powerful example of cabernet from Howell Mountain. There's a sense of metallic minerality from these red andesite-derived (volcanic) soils. Wood flavour has integrated nicely over the years, leaving it with a complex, toasty but integrated flavour profile and very good to excellent length. I like the density and the richness, the acid structure and the tightly knit tannins. A well crafted wine all around, best 2017-2025. Tasted January 2015.
