From famed Brunello producer Fattoria dei Barbi is this entry level, 100% Sangiovese. This wine has been produced for many years, and it seems like a long time since i last tried it. It is a straight forward red, with bright cherry fruit, hints of leather and spice, soft tannin and decent acidity. Meant for relatively early consumption and would work best with food. A nice, authetically Tuscan red at an agreeable price. Tasted July 2015.
