One of Bertrand's better Grand Terroirs, the Les Aspres (in the Côtes du Roussillon) has gorgeous initial aromas of wild strawberry and vanilla, then herbs/garrigue, baking spice, ripe dark cherry, raspberry, blackberry, and blackcurrant. It's remarkably soft and round in the mouth, quite warming given the 15% alcohol, with dark fruit, more spice, minerally earth, and a faint buttery note. There's actually not a ton of flavour depth despite the aromatic complexity, though, and the fruit collapses into a tart-bitter puddle, but the length is good and certainly there's a good deal to admire.
