An elegant well priced cabernet from the fairly cool Santa Ynez Valley about an hour's drive north of Santa Barbara....

Oh, so smooth, with an almost cinnamon finish. I think this is the best value at LCBO, and it is in the general section. Wonderful!

An excellent California wine displaying the signature traits expected - a hot, full wine with a generous amount of oak. This was a nice treat, and would pair well with anything on the grill.

I love deals at the LCBO whether they be bin end or LTO's, particularly for good wines that are already value priced. This Cali Cab offers ripe dark fruit with cassis and blueberry pie. Some pepper and herbal minty notes. Medium minus acidity and light tannin somehow seem enough to provide structure. Oak is checked, with some chocolate notes. Stays just on this side of confected. A multi bottle purchase while on sale. Feb. 2016.
