I had two bottles of this wine. One was drank around May-June 2008 and the other in February 2009. The tannins were much more relaxed in the latter. This is an excellent wine and I would say that it's drinking well now, but will last a little longer if preferred.

Marynissen is my most favourite winery (followed by Konzelnman) in Niagara-On-The-Lake. Unfortunately (or fortunately??) they don’t sell any wines at the LCBO, limiting my exposure to their wines to a couple of occasions a year. This wine is the best wine (from them) I have in my cellar (I was lucky to get couple of cases), also it was THE best wine I had in my cellar for several years (before my passion and my cellar really exploded) and. This smooth, medium bodied wine has sweet integrated to aged aromas of red currant, cherry and oak. It starts off slightly acidic, but opens up upon decanting for 30 min to an hour. Tannins are refined, finish is medium and I don’t see why it shouldn’t comfortably age for additional 5 or more years, even though it will not benefit from further aging. My impression: BEAUTIFUL. Tasted for past almost 3 years, reviewed Jan/10.

If you would like to see wines I recommend and that are still available at the LCBO, please visit this link (listed in my profile):
