Le Clos Jordanne Village Reserve Chardonnay 2006, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Chardonnay

Ontario, Canada
$30.00 (33936)
Le Clos Jordanne exploded onto the Ontario scene a couple of years ago by making some of the Niagara region's most sought-after Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. Winemaker Thomas Bachelder spent much of his career crafting wine in Burgundy and his passion for these varieties is infectious. This 2006 Village Chardonnay, sourced from several of the estate's vineyards, is simply stellar. Deep in colour, this medium full-bodied wine is packed with aromas and flavours of citrus fruit, peach, vanilla, butterscotch and hazelnut, all balanced by fresh acidity and leading to a very long finish. At Press time, Tony Aspler gave this wine wine **** out of 5. (www.tonyaspler.com, Oct. 20, 2008)

Aromas of butter cream icing, banana and vanilla bean, followed up with butter, baked apple and smoky goodness on the palate. Very well-balanced, with a silky mouth feel. More apple on the long, smooth finish.
