The 2010 Secco Bertani Valpolicella Valpantena Ripasso has subdued berry aromas on the nose and blackberry, blueberry and clove on the palate. It is a medium to full bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine, with forward acidity, subtle tannins (decanting for 30 min should increase the intensity of aromas) and a medium to long and smooth finish. Drink with food or sip by itself; drink now and for the next 5 years. My impression: NICE, 88-89 pts – recommended based on its quality. Tasted at Churchill Cellars Portfolio tasting May/13.
