Ravine Vineyard Reserve Chardonnay Barrel Select 2009, Niagara Peninsula VQA
This is not a weighty bombshell of chardonnay but rather a serious, well-crafted example showing great restraint and notable verve. There is both a refreshing lightness and vibrancy about this wine despite a its submission to a substantial French oak treatment and time on the lees. A failed attempt at malolactic fermentation here yielded a very elegant and surprisingly balanced wine with an almost ethereal quality on the palate. Score: 90 (Sara d'Amato, WineAlign.com, Mar 2013)

This is a solid barrel fermented Chardonnay offering fresh cool climate notes to the typical woodsy vanilla cream that we all love in Chardonnay. Structured with a solid finish.

I generally find that Ontario Chardonnay does not age that well. Drinking this one in 2014 and it is amazing. Feels young, nervy and full of toasty flavor. No signs of aging. Veeeery long finish. Worth every penny. Celebrity equivalent: Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars.
