Made with the same grape varieties used in Port, this dry red is filled with upfront fruit aromas of black plum, figs, dried fruits, blueberry, dark chocolate and a whiff of tar. It bursts on the palate with intense ripe fruit flavours, which are well balanced by supportive mild tannins. The finish is impressively long and features enough structure to suggest this beauty will drink very well over the next three years. A delight to serve with charcuterie.

Ready to go, this is lush without being overly sweet; expressive with intriguing aromas evolving each time you take another sip. Certainly different from the mainstream, enjoyable, good value.

This medium bodied, fruity wine has aromas of cherry, prune and strawberry. It has a medium finish and subtle tannins (decant for 30 min). My impression: NICE. Tasted Jan/10.
