Here's an unusually deeply coloured rosé champagne, which looks quite similar to old world pinot noir with its pale garnet red colour. On the nose, too, it resembles a smoky-earthy Burgundian-style pinot noir, complete with a touch of animal and leathery aromas. The palate is dry, fullish, substantial, with impressive flavour concentration and length. A great champagne for the table I'd say - try with veal or duck magret.
