Tsantali Rapsani Reserve 2004, Ao
Blend

Greece
$18.95 (734855)
2004 Tsantali Rapsani Reserve is produced from roughly equal amounts of the native Xinomavro, Krassato and Stavrotó grapes, and spends a fair time in oak and bottle prior to release. This is a generous, well rounded, fairly mature tasting and easy drinking sort of wine with a good core of berry and plum fruit as well as a subtle roasted sensation on the finish – the latter feature likely derived from the wood influence. It’s versatile enough to pair successfully with a wide variety of dishes. (Doug Kuebler, www.cigarweekly.com, May 19, 2008)

Excellent Red wine perfect to be enjoyed with spicy foods.
This light to medium bodied, integrated wine is quite sweet despite being extra dry. It shows aromas of raspberry, oak, leather and to a lesser extent, prune, violets and chocolate. The tannins are refined (wine needs at least 30 min to open) and the finish is long. This is a great wine when it comes to complexity, but it is not my style hence my impression is just NICE, but is rated quite high. Tasted Jan/10.
