Sunny mulberry, plum, vanilla and spice aromas. Interesting mix of fresh and dried fruit on the palate, with good replays of the nose. Maturing nicely, it’s ready to drink tonight with veal scallopini in a sun-dried tomato sauce. (VINTAGES panel, July 2012)

Not bad, but not great. Big and ripe with lots of plum, raisin, and baking spice aromas on the nose. The ripe character makes this almost seem a tad sweet, but there's still reasonable acidity to keep it balanced. Along with this are somewhat grippy tannins. Would be more enjoyable with more complexity and a longer finish, but this isn't bad at all for the money. Drink pair beautifully with a simple tomato and sausage pasta. Tasted January 2013.
