From the winery's website:
This has been referred to as "the other Burgundy red wine grape". Gamay is the well known grape variety grown in the Beaujolais region of France. It usually tastes of freshly picked red fruit like strawberry, blueberry and plums, has lots of acidity, and can show aromas of bananas, boiled sweets and acetone if malo-lactic fermentation is used. It is a very intense wine and is our most popular wine due to it aroma and additional earthy flavours and white pepper finish.
