80% Merlot, 20% Cab Franc. Rich, ripe right bank Bordeaux from the heatwave vintage. Abundant oak competes with the black fruit. Tannin is mellowing but enough structure to keep 3-5 years. Well made, no doubt, but completely lacking in identifiable Bordelais characteristics. Indeed, this is more akin to a Napa red, though it tastes like it could have come from anywhere. Too much oak, fruit that hung too long...a Parkerized wine. Tasted March 2012.
