Intended to be consumed young, this gently effervescent wine is catching on as year round, satisfying alternative to more alcoholic, Portuguese Vinho Verde’s or French Picpoule offerings (though both are also fabulous, less fizzy, lighter wine styles).
This pleasantly rich, musky wine with uplifting fragrances of peach and apricot, is a delightful option as apéritif with creamy cheeses or spritzy complement to cake and fruity desserts. Serve very well chilled, this low alcohol offering could be the ideal, more unusual starter to a brunch menu in lieu of more traditional fare such as Mimosas.
