This Rioja standard-bearer is fermented and aged in wood. It is not showy, indeed its almost sly nose where you think...

(2008 vintage)

Dark in the glass. Boozy, sharp nose. Some air freshener. Full bodied. Warm, spicy, peppery palate. Tannins a bit rustic. Definitely a food wine.

An enjoyable wine but significantly over-priced for what you get.

Quite tart. Sour cherry flavours with an undercurrent of oak. Smooth and easy to drink but, at $23.95, I am not finding this a screamingly good buy.

dark fruit and vanilla - decent dinner wine, not overly complex, new world silkiness and a bit of greenness

Very fruity nose with mild spices fighting to shine through. New world smooth makes it very easy to drink. I think it's a good option for those looking for a red to go with seafood.
