Similar to the '07, plenty of black pepper and spice (hence the name!), along with meat and some dark berry fruit. Like the '07, I enjoyed this wine but found it just a bit lacking in fruit and depth. With the $2 price increase, not the compelling value it was but still fairly priced. Drink now. Tasted Oct '11/
