It's only wine but I like it
The first wine of the Tesseron era at Pontet Canet, a previously underperforming 5th growth. At nearly 17 years of age, this wine still pours inky purple (almost black). Not a showy wine, but one that is true to its Pauillac roots, with notes of cool blackberry fruit, black tea, cedar and touches on vanilla. Drinking really well now but can hold for some time. A super wine, especially in light of all the rain in September of '94. Purchased in NYC in 1997 for $24.99 (about $37 in Cng fund at the time). Tasted Sept 2011.
