(an 80/20 blend of grenache and syrah) Deep ruby. Powerful, deeply pitched aromas of cassis, violet and black olive; I'd have guessed there was a lot more syrah in here. Lush, creamy dark fruit compote flavors are complicated by notes of licorice and white pepper, with a subtle floral nuance in the background.
