I smell this and think of Tuscany. Loads of black cherry, blackberry, smoke and earth. Palate is medium to full bodied, with dark fruit replaying, and with sweet and ripe, if ever so slightly, sandy tannins. Quite delicious, with a finish of more than average length. Tremendous value.

A palate of black ripe fruit, earth, licorice and spice. While tuscan, this portrays qualities typical of a bordeaux - particularly the licorice notes. While it opened up after decanting, the tannic and acidic structure of this wine means that it will likely see great value in short-term aging.
Tasted April, 2012.
