Jadot's 2006 Savigny-Les-Beaune La Dominode is predictably denser and meatier than the corresponding Guettes, as well as yet more inflected by mineral suggestions of sealing wax, chalk and salts. Bright fresh red raspberry fruit compliments low-toned rich, roasted meatiness with the mediation of those mineral notes, and this finishes with sustained, strong, lip-smacking savor and a dynamic, Riesling-like interplay of fruit and mineral elements. The structure here is sinewy but the texture seamless. This will probably be even better in a couple of years and be worth following for the better part of a decade. Speaking of which, Lardiere has begun working these vines biodynamically and claims you will see significant improvement in the next couple of years in this wine. Score - 91.
