It's only wine but I like it

Rosso di Montalcino is essentially Burnello's kid brother (or kid sister if you prefer). 100% Sangiovese Grosso, but aged less than Brunello, and usually sourced from younger vines and/or lesser plots. This RdM is lighter-bodied, displaying sour cherry fruit, sharp acidity and a rather short finish. A bit thin and simple, this red doesn't warm the spirit the way better Tuscan reds do. A disappointment from one of the top producers in Montalcino (and from a good-very good vintage). Drink now. Tasted Feb 2013.
