A contrary approach to the Pio Cesare mantra of traditional production. The 100% french oaking is very present with 30% “mid toasting” level. The palate still represents Barbera’s varietal high acidity, and is refreshing after the nose of chocolate, vanilla and blackberry. A great wine to try as a gateway from new world regions like Sonoma, but traditionalists beware.
