Dark Ruby. Fairly intense nose with dark fruit, plum, cherry, vanilla and something sweet/medicinal. On the palate it adds more ripe fruit and cherry along with more oak. Has some grippy tannins with some balancing acidity and a good mouthfeel. Add a pretty decent length finish. The alcohol listed is 15.1% but it did not come across as hot. Given the colour/year I was surprised at the amount of sediment in the bottle. March 2011.
