Produttori Di Govone Barbaresco 2006 - Expert wine ratings and wine reviews by WineAlign
Here's a real savoury, old world style wine, with intense porcini mushroom, dried earth, pot pourri and fully dried...
It's highly unusual to see a Barbaresco under $20. Things may be slow in Piedmont these days, at least at this large...

This has matured since my last tasting in early 2012, sour cherry, soft tannins, earthy, beautiful garnet colour, puckering in a very good way, only 1 bottle left, too bad!
The 2006 Produttori Di Govone Barbaresco is light bodied, with nice aromas of integrated strawberry, cedar and coconut. It is tannic (decant for 1 hr) and it has a long and smooth finish. It is still young and can age/evolve for the next 10 years. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts - a definitely recommended buy, especially at this price (I have never seen a Barbaresco go under $35). One thing to look out for is the quality of the cork, as I have seen one quite deteriorated (I hope it was the only one as I am cellaring several bottles). Tasted Feb/11.

Quite mature tasting with some notes of dried fruits, prunes, and some earthy notes. Didn't really strike me a very Nebbiolo-like. Given the tasting notes of others, I suspect perhaps I had a slightly less than perfect bottle.
