Nice intense nose of red and dark fruit, cherry, earth, smoked meat, pepper, leather. Dry with medium, fine tannin and a mid-palate adding sour cherry, plum, with medium acid and a fairly long finish. Lots going on here. Feb 2011.

Peppery northern Rhone Syrah. Okay, but not something that I found particularly memorable either.

Subdued on the nose. Mouth feel of dark fruit, white pepper and smoky. Lack of complexity, not a lot of fruit here, fresh acidity and well integrated tannins. To simple of a wine for $31.95. Something is not quite right here; this wine may have been slightly oxidized.
