Sogrape winery, located in the Duoro Valley in Portugal, produces exceptional valued wines named Vila Regia Reserva (even the non reserva are pretty good), which the LCBO carries in the general section. This 2007 Reserva (check out the 2002 and 2006 reviews) is medium bodied with nice fruity aromas of bilberry, black cherry, prune and vanilla. The tannins are refined (open for 30 min to hour) and the finish is medium to long. It’s a bit fruity at this moment, but it will surely nicely evolve for the next 6 or so years and I am looking forward to the it. My impression: NICE, 89 pts. Tasted July/10.
