Castillo de Cuzcurrita's 2003 Senorio de Cuzcurrita is 100% Tempranillo sourced from a single vineyard planted in 1970. The wine was aged for 13 months in seasoned French oak. Purple-colored, it offers up an expressive bouquet of cedar, spice box (cinnamon and clove), floral notes, black raspberry and blackberry. This leads to a sweetly fruited, elegant wine with a smooth texture, complex flavors, nicely concealed tannin, and 4-5 years of aging potential. Its window of peak drinking should be open by 2013 and remain there through 2025. Score - 92. (Jay Miller, erobertparker.com, February 2008)
