The 2005 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is full of energy and vibrancy. This polished, taut wine flows from the glass with attractive dark cherries framed by firm, yet well-integrated tannins on a medium-bodied frame. It should drink beautifully over the next few years. A blend of 80% Sangiovese with the addition of Canaiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it spent 24 months in oak barrels of various sizes. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2017. Score - 90.
