The power of a review - I would have never purchased this wine based on Mr. JS's review. Fortunately, my friend was at an LCBO and they had it for tasting, he liked it, he bought it. You would have never guessed that this wine won a GOLD medal at the 2009 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. It is medium bodied with nice aromas of fruity to INTEGRATED cherry, prune and vanilla. Tannins are subtle (decant for 15 min) and the finish is medium and a bit metallic and bretty. I would not suggest aging this wine longer than 1 to 2 years. My impression: NICE, 87 pts (despite deductions for the bit metallic and bretty finish). I think Mr. JS had to have a spoiled bottle. To summarize, this wine is a bit confusing, has its plusses and its minuses, I think I may give it another try, after all, the price is right. Tasted June/10.
