Christopher Columbus would be impressed with this wine as it’s very much of the New World. Deep ruby in colour, this Merlot displays aromas of ripe cassis, coffee bean and sweet black cherries. It’s dry and full bodied with ample flavours of ripe black fruit, toast and vanilla kept in check by a bright acidity and medium tannins. Consistently offers great value. (VINTAGES panel, June 2009)
