'06: 86+

I only had a taste but I enjoyed the '07 MUCH more than the '06. No proper notes but it seemed more dense and complex. I'll write more when I open a bottle and give it a proper go.

I still have an '06 in the cellar...curious how/if that has evolved.

Original review for the '06:

This is a good wine but a '92' seems generous.

Very restrained nose, and tight on the palate, quite dry and very minerally. Bright acidity and fine tannins.

The other bottle will benefit from a couple more cellar years.

A nice drink but I didn't find it lived up to the hype.

A good choice for Wine of the Month.
Smooth,flavourful and elegant.

This fruity, medium bodied wine has notes of prune, bilberry and earthiness containing scents of pine. It struck me as a bit acidic and tannic (needs at least 30 min to open). This wine is nice, but I am not a fan of very plumy wines. It reminds me of some Jay Miller 90+ wines from Spain for under $15. Impression: NICE. Tasted Feb/10.

You can pretty much smell the hot Mediterranean sun dripping off of this one. Dense, thick, and full bodied. The nose displays dried herb, roast meat, charcoal and ripe plum and on the palate, this is massive and rich. Silky textured and not too ripe, with lots of earthy, spicy flavours to balance the fruit. The alcohol is a little bit high, however. Decant this, as it took quite a while to open up for me.
