Quinta Do Roncão Reserva 2006, Doc Douro
Blend

Portugal
$13.95 (147942)
(Translated from the Portuguese) Shows a good aromatic presence with notes of jam and ripe plum, but isn’t overloaded with fruit. Full bodied in the mouth, smooth and round; a dry wine with length typical of the Douro. Score – 15.5 (out of 20). (www.revistade vinhos.iol.pt, Undated)

This medium bodied, fruity to integrated wine consists of prune and to lesser extent strawberry, raspberry and earthy notes. There are aromas of oak and vanilla, and the wine is smooth and silky. It has an aging potential of no more than 5 years, has some tannins (needs to open between half to an hour) with medium, slightly metallic finish. My impression: NICE. Tasted Feb/10.
