Crown Bench Estates
Crown Bench, named for its elevated position at the crown of the Beamsville Bench, boasts some of Niagara’s oldest vines – some planted in the late 1960s. Here, Peter kocsis and Livia Sipos make Chardonnay, Bordeaux-variety reds and dessert wines, all by a philosophy that insists on grape quality, low yields and aging the wines before release. The winery’s more innovative offerings include a chocolate-infused dessert wine called Ambrosia and 2001 Eros, a late-picked Vidal aged five years in barrel. The Bruce Trail and great Niagara Escarpment vistas await visitors.
