Shipping to WWAC Guidelines

Judging for the WineAlign 2014 World Wine Awards of Canada will take place in from August 18 to 22 in Toronto.

NOTE: There is NO limit on the number of wines any single winery may enter.

If you require any further assistance please contact Sarah Goddard at [email protected] .

Please Note:  The Shipping Deadline has been extended.  Wines must be at the Toronto consolidation point (see address below) by Tuesday, August 12, 2014.

IMPORTANT:  Neither WineAlign nor The World Wine Awards of Canada can import entries into the province of Ontario.  All entries from outside Canada require the assistance of a Canadian agency.  WineAlign is unable to assist with the shipment of wine to Ontario.

Number of bottles

Registrants are required to ship three 750mL or six 375mL bottles of wine (or equivalent volume) per entry to allow for multiple rounds of tasting. Wineries submitting cork finished bottles should consider submitting four samples to avoid any risk of  TCA taint leaving them with insufficient bottles to compete.

Provincial Restrictions to Shipping

Due to the Ontario liquor regulations neither WineAlign nor WWAC can import entries into the province of Ontario. Entrants should endeavour to source samples from within the province whenever possible to minimize delays. The easiest and most effective way for any winery to supply wines for the competition is to arrange for an Ontario agent to deliver the wine to us at the address below.

Shipping Wine from within Canada

If you do not have an Ontario agent, and are delivering wine samples from elsewhere within Canada we recommend that you consult with your agent in that province to determine the best way to ship your product.

Shipping Wine from outside of Canada

Sending wine from a non-Canadian source may result in untimely delays; please factor this in when arranging your wine shipment to ensure that your product arrives in time for judging. Delivery of wine from outside of Canada should be shipped with the assistance of an Ontario agent. This agent will be able to complete import procedures, and the wine will be delivered to the WWAC.

Winery representatives who do not have an Ontario agent must consult their agent elsewhere in Canada regarding how best to deliver their wine. As we are unable to assist with the shipment of wine, all wines entered from outside of Canada require the assistance of a Canadian agent.

Canadian Wineries shipping wine from outside of Ontario

Canadian wineries outside of Ontario entering the World Wine Awards of Canada should note that, in sending wines to Ontario, you are not infringing the interprovincial shipping laws as the wines are for sample purposes only, not for consumer consumption or sale. As such, we recommend you label each bottle and case “For Sample Purposes Only – Not for Sale”.
