#SauvBlanc Day May 5

#SauvBlanc Day kicks off in New Zealand, the first place to see the sun, on the first Friday of May. Celebrations then continue around the globe, following the sun, as the world wakes up to enjoy #SauvBlanc.

Unique, exuberant, and intense. Sauvignon Blanc is the explosive variety that awoke the world to New Zealand wine, and #SauvBlanc Day just wouldn’t be the same without a glass of New Zealand’s finest.

Sauvignon Blanc Day is an online initiative which started as a global social media wine tasting in 2009 in California. A few years after its inception, New Zealand Winegrowers began to lead the campaign by hosting events across key export markets to celebrate New Zealand’s flagship wine style.

Sauvignon Blanc accounts for around 85% of New Zealand wine exports and are worth over $1 billion annually.

Anyone can join the celebration by enjoying a glass of New Zealand #SauvBlanc on May 5 and telling the world how good it is.
