Round 6.9: “So, You Think you Know Wine?”

Perfection Under Pressure

Welcome to the final round of the regular season of So You Think You Know Wine? Round 6.9 should determine which six contestants will advance to the semi-finals (unless there is a freakin’ tie, which we never anticipated, and have to squeeze in a quick tie-breaker round… stay tuned).

Pour yourself a glass of wine, sit back and enjoy Round 6.9 as host James Chatto leads Toni Weber, Steve Thurlow and David Lawrason in a blind tasting to identify a fresh and minerally Australian shiraz with the pressure on to advance to the semi-finals.

In Round 6.8 the very aromatic sauvignon blanc jumped out of the glass allowing the contestants to guess the grape variety quite easily, but there was debate about where it could be from. In the end, scores were high all around with Bruce winning the round with a perfect score of 10 points. Have a look at the score card below to see how the contestants are doing so far.

The Scoring

The scoring on each wine remains similar to past seasons with 10 points total for Variety, Country, Region, Appellation, Vintage, and Price.

Variety up to 3 points
Country, Region, Appellation up to 4 points
Vintage up to 2 points
Price (within 10% on either side), 1 point
